Family Viewing is an international exhibition that will premiere at Art Rotterdam, surely the finest art fair of the Netherlands! The group exhibition takes as its starting point a broad interpretation of the family portrait. An essay by Sue-An van der Zijpp (curator Groninger Museum) accompanies the exhibition.
AMA offers a special service to the visitors of Art Rotterdam: Your portrait drawn by Dutch artist Johan Kleinjan in his cabin studio on the terrace of Cafe Rotterdam (the entrance of Art Rotterdam). Johan Kleinjan is a member of the infamous collective Antistrot and has exhibted in Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, de Vleeshal (Middelburg) and the Hugh Lane Gallery (Dublin)( to name a few. A sitting takes 30 minutes. Single portrait 200,- euro, double portrait 265,- euro. Reservations:

Family Viewing is an episodic project initiated by artist Jemima Brown (UK) as an experiment in collaborative practice between artists, curators, project-spaces, galleries, institutions and collectors.
Family Viewing premieres at Art Rotterdam, after which the exhibition will travel to the Neighborhood community centers in Zuidwijk and IJsselmonde Rotterdam.

The first London episode of Family Viewing will be at Curator Space in April 2006.
