Open Set Summer School: Annette Krauss & Laura Pardo
Designing Experience: Moment – Stage – Memory
1 August 2015
Location:
Showroom MAMA
The fourth edition of Open Set will take place from 26.07 till 08.08.2015, which compiles a two-week long series of workshops, public interventions, film-screenings and lectures. The event aims to promote and enhance the social value of design by facilitating debates around the chosen theme from a rich diversity of cross-disciplinary perspectives and socially engaged cultural practices.
Open Set has been invited by Kunstblock, a Rotterdam based foundation that has been set up by five cultural institutions that reside on the Witte de Withstraat. The different workshops and presentations that are part of the Summer School take place in the different Kunstblock affiliated locations.

The Open Set 2015 edition under the theme Designing Experience: Moment – Stage – Memory examines creative strategies of staging new experiences and their capability to provoke and influence the construction of individual and collective identities. The event is made possible due to contributions by design critic Max Bruinsma, designers Jan van Toorn, Prem Krishnamurthy (Studio Project Projects, USA), Anab Jain (studio Superflux, UK), Studio Dumbar, procedural artist Martijn Engelbregt, researcher Florian Cramer, Caroline Nevejan, choreographer Bruno Listopad, design historian Els Kuijpers and others.

In the framework of Open Set Summer School, artists Annette Krauss and Laura Pardo will lead a workshop investigating the theme 'Designing Experience: Moment – Stage – Memory'. This workshop will take place on saturday 1 august at Showroom MAMA.
