Seven Days of Happening
From
Friday September 12th 2014
until
Sunday September 21st 2014
12 September t/m 21 September 2014
Curated by:
Jaleel-Roy Lindsey (Paramaribo, 1983), Lauren Brand (Dordrecht, 1991) en Rory van Wingerden (Dordrecht, 1988).
From 12 September until 21 September 2014, Showroom MAMA presents Seven Days of Happening, a 'live art – performance – food – party – music and art festival,' organised by MAMA's Rookie MA (RMA).
Seven Days of Happening is a project by MAMA's Rookies MA (RMA) participants: Jaleel-Roy Lindsey (Paramaribo, 1983), Lauren Brand (Dordrecht, 1991), and Rory van Wingerden (Dordrecht, 1988).
Seven Days of Happening dedicates itself to daily happenings by young designers, artists, performers, and musicians. Each day focuses on a different emotion and experience, whereby the showroom becomes the meeting point.

The RMA process began in November 2013. Through its combination of intensive supervision from staff and mentors, and tours and workshops by external professionals, the Rookies MA provides the perfect situation for its participants to experience the practice of a cultural institution, and to conceptualise and develop their own project. RMA operates freely and independently, and in close collaboration with its mentors: Tanja Elstgeest (Productiehuis Rotterdam), Gyz la Rivière (artist), Willemijn van Drunen (press and publicity, including Mauritshuis, The Hague), and Karina Bezooijen (Director KOP Breda).

RMA was supported in the production and implementation of Seven Days of Happening by MAMA's Rookies, including: Rishi Badal (Rotterdam, 1986), Athena Gronti (Athene, 1993), Eva Nobbe (Utrecht, 1990), Niki Palmen (Maastricht, 1990), Brigitte Jansen (Zoetermeer, 1991), and Yos Purwanto (Rotterdam, 1990).
