Gerben Meinders and Mariusz Tarkawian
On Sunday 1 May the opening of two special projects from the Sweatboxing group exhibition took place.
Gerben Meinders is now showing a new stop motion animation created from a new series of drawings. In addition Gerben Meinders shall be making an "on the spot" installation in which his fervent working energy and prolific output are as important as the cartoon figures he renders.

In the last few weeks Mariusz Tarkawian has worked on a comic strip adaptation of Bissy Bunder's video Beyonda - A Journey Into The Darkness. Bissy Bunder in an international (BE, DE, PL, AT) interdisciplinary art collective consisting of Rani Bageria, Kati Heck, Michéle Matyn, Tina Schott, Johanna Trudzinski en Julia Wlodkowski.

Sweatboxing continues until 29 May 2010 and features 10 contemporary artists whose work is thematically and stylistically varied yet connected in their referencing of movies, cartoons and animation. The exhibition's title comes from Walt Disney Studio's sweatbox. Disney was the first animation studio to make extensive use of preparatory sketches to get an impression of the final results for its animations?
